Churchill Hospital is proud to return as a major sponsor of NZ’s premier garden event, Rapaura Springs Garden Marlborough for 2022.
General Manager Nicki Stretch says the week-long festival aligns with Churchill’s commitment to benefitting and enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of the Marlborough community.
“Garden Marlborough ties in nicely with a lot of the things we do here. Gardening helps people to keep active and motivated and is generally great for overall mental health and wellbeing.”
We know that active roles such as gardening together, build greater health. Connection in this way both to each other and to nature is great for the body and soul.
“Many of our patients cite gardening as a favourite activity, and come to us for treatment on injuries and sore joints that could otherwise stop them from getting out in the garden.” says Nicki
People of all age groups can experience the benefits of keeping and enjoying a garden, whether that be from physical exercise or the production of nutritious home-grown fruit and vegetables.
Look out for the various events planned for Garden Marlborough week and take some time to take part, whether that be through a visit to your favourite gardens, attending a workshop or soaking up the atmosphere at the annual Garden Fete.
Tickets for events within Garden Marlborough are on sale now and you can see what’s planned for the 2022 Rapaura Springs Garden Marlborough, via the website.
