Churchill Hospital Trust operates Marlborough’s only private surgical hospital and Specialist Centre
Churchill Private Hospital functions as an independent private hospital but works in a mutually beneficial relationship with Nelson Marlborough District Health Board.
As a charitable trust, profits are reinvested into medical equipment for public and private use as well as maintaining and expanding the private health facilities and services in our region.
The Trust supports continuing education through its study grant programme, as well as supporting charities and non-profit organisations involved in health and wellness within the region.
Modern and Welcoming Facilities
Churchill Private Hospital Trust’s new hospital and specialist centre were officially opened by the Hon Tony Ryall on 11th April 2013. The facility boasts 9 well appointed inpatient rooms, each with their own ensuite and offering Sky TV and wireless internet. The day stay suite is popular with day stay patients, the comfortable recliners ensuring a relaxing end to your stay.
Having a private hospital in Marlborough helps take pressure off the public system and also helps to attract Medical Specialists to Marlborough. Churchill Hospital also has access to high dependency and intensive care facilities 24 hours a day if required.
The team at Churchill Hospital are committed to delivering high-quality patient-centred care. They continuously achieve Ministry of Health Certification and accreditation to the Australiasian EQUiP6 standards. A wide range of surgical services are available including general and laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery and urology.
