Andy was born in the UK and commenced his medical training in 2007 at the University of Leicester. After graduation specialised in orthopaedic surgery completing his post-graduate qualifications in 2021. During training he developed an interest in foot and ankle surgery working with the pioneers of new ankle replacement technology and publishing multiple scientific papers on the topic.
Following this he moved to New Zealand, completing a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery with Tony Danesh-Clough, the current president of the New Zealand Foot and Ankle Society in Auckland, where he gained extensive experience in ankle replacement surgery and the full spectrum of foot and ankle care in New Zealand.
After a short locum post in Marlborough in 2023 he fell in love with the area and was fortunate to be offered a permanent position here. After another year of fellowship training in Australia, specialising in peri-prosthetic fractures of the lower limb, he has now returned to Marlborough to take up his permanent post and looks forward to serving the Marlborough community.

Including all fractures and injuries of the limbs, carpal tunnel decompression, Dupuytren’s, trigger finger release, surgery of the elbow, hand, wrist and benign soft tissue lesions.

Foot and ankle surgery.
Ankle replacement surgery, flat foot reconstructive surgery, deformity correction, bunion corrections and forefoot surgery.
Hip surgery including primary and revision hip replacement.

To make an appointment with Dr King, a referral from a medical practitioner is preferred, but self referrals are accepted.
