Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr Agneta Fullarton is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She is registered by the New Zealand Medical Council as a specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS Ed) and New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Fullarton is currently one of only 9 female Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons practising in New Zealand and is the only female Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon practising in the Marlborough region.
Dr Fullarton graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1997 and subsequently trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Edinburgh, Cambridge, Auckland and Wellington. She became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2008.
She then spent a further two years training in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, where she completed fellowships in:
- Aesthetic surgery at the New Zealand Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Auckland, New Zealand; and
- Breast reconstruction, microsurgery and hand surgery at the St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery & Burns, Chelmsford, UK.
In addition to general plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr Fullarton has a specialist interest in:
- Reconstructive breast surgery
- Aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and trunk
- Hand surgery
- Surgery for melanoma and skin cancers
Dr Fullarton has a PhD in peripheral nerve regeneration and is the supervisor of training for plastic surgery in the Wellington region.
Dr Fullarton is a visiting specialist at Boulcott Hospital (Lower Hutt) and Churchill Private Hospital (Blenheim). As well as her private practice, Dr Fullarton is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Wellington Regional Plastic Surgery Unit at Hutt Hospital, where her main areas of interest are breast reconstruction, hand surgery and the treatment of skin cancers.
Appointments:
Patients may be referred to Dr Fullarton by a Medical Practitioner, although they are also welcome to make appointments with her direct by contacting her rooms at Boulcott Specialist Centre.
