Colorectal Surgery
Mark completed his medical degree at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. He undertook his higher surgical training in the South East and South West of England. He was awarded the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland medal for achieving the highest mark in the UK and Ireland in the FRCS examination. On completion of training he worked as a consultant in Bath, UK before making the move to New Zealand in 2022.
His specialist area is in the treatment of benign and malignant colorectal conditions. He is an experienced laparoscopic surgeon and performs the vast majority of his abdominal operations using this technique. He performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy and performs endoscopy for the national bowel cancer screening.
He also has specialist interest in:
- Inflammatory bowel disorders
- Complex hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction
- Laparoscopic inguinal hernias
- Pelvic floor disorders
- Procotology including haemorrhoids, fistulas and fissures
- Gallstones
- Lumps and bumps
Mark lives in Marlborough with his wife and three daughters. He is a keen sportsman and enjoys exploring New Zealand’s outdoors.
